Bennet's Bar, Edinburgh

Great wee pub, ended up in there during my stag weekend for a few - made a nice change from the over-priced rabble at the Grassmarket. Good service and traditional layout. Next time I am down in Edinburgh I will certainly go back.

The Elm Bar, Edinburgh

Used to go here for a cheap drink or two a couple of years back in I lived in Edinburgh. Was always busy on Saturday nights and never saw any trouble. Bar staff were fairly friendly. Hope it's still going strong.

Molly Malone's, Prague, 1

It is still over-priced and fairly quiet when we were there. Staff looked bored and there certainly was not and banter with them. Had one drink and left.

Pivovarsky dum, Prague

Good place, I would recommend the banana beer! Although when we went there seemed to be a lot of pre-reserved tables and the staff seemed a bit sick of having to deal with UK tourists.

Rocky O'Reillys, Prague

Think this place is dying. Picked up a leaflet from a vendor when on holiday and went for a look but when we got there it was empty and this was late on a Thursday night in August.

The George and Dragon, Prague

Went there recently on a Sat night and place was OK. Good mix of people and band playing decent tunes in the corner. There isn't much surprise in these places but I've been to worse bars in Prague...

The Moray Bar, Inverness

Been here a few times, most recently last week. Bar is traditional and in need of a lick of paint but still good value with cheap grub as well. Seems to be up for sale/lease so unsure what will happen to it in the future.

The Bar Pivo, Inverness

Has a good selection of drinks and a decent menu. Seems to be a place where young and old go (during lunchtime anyway) and would be a good location to lose an afternoon drinking Pilsner!

The Blackfriars, Inverness

Went for a lunchtime drink and was very quiet but well worth visiting to see how it has maintained its traditional appearance. Didn't eat but food menu looked very good. Will try and go there at the weekend next time I pass through Inverness.

The Star Inn, Tain

Went here whilst in Tain for a wedding recenty. Local hotel staff recommended it. Excellent wee bar. Good prices for drinks, helpful staff and friendly locals who didn't scarper once we started karaoke!

The Guildford Arms, Edinburgh

This place is really nice. Beautiful decor, good choice of drinks, nice mix of people. Perhaps a little more expensive than some other bars but well worth it.

The Central Bar, Leith

This is a great place to lose a few hours. Has not been modernised and is the better for it. Decent prices and amusing locals.

Wilkies, Leith

Tiny little boozer but worth a visit to get the experience of a local Leith pub. Found staff and locals to be fine.

The Royal Nip, Edinburgh

Used to live near this pub and went every now and then. I really liked it - the staff and locals seemed friendly enough with a decent selection of drinks and a pool table which the locals didn't seem to protect like they do in some bars.
