The Lion, Stoke Newington

Lovely pub that always has great music coming out of the jukebox. Always pop in for a pint or two when i'm in the area.

Defoe, Stoke Newington

Popped in on a Bank holiday Monday to shelter from the rain. Left an hour and a half later with a belly full of some of the nicest food i've eaten in ages. Pub food has never tased nicer, and reasonably priced too.

The Birdcage, Bethnal Green

A really lovely freindly East London pub. We chanced upon this place whilst out on a Sunday afternoon and fancied a pint or four. The lady behind the bar recommended some real ales, and made us feel very very welcome. After half an hour we were even presented with some cheese and biscuits, gratis! Lovely pub, which hasn't had the heart torn out of it, unlike most London boozers! Recommended.

The Rising Sun, Epsom

Went once on the last night and was made very unwelcome and left after one drink. Maybe if you have a night for "locals and regulars only" you should tell people BEFORE you take 5.00 off them at the door, as we could have saved our money and spent it somewhere more welcoming, like the much nicer Ye Olde Kings Head round the corner. I hope Youngs make a better job of making townies and new customers welcome, not that we'll be back to this one.
