The Mad Bishop and Bear, Paddington

Popped in here on Friday night as I had a quick half hour to kill whilst I was waiting for a train to go away for the weekend. The guy selling the evening standard recommended it to me over the other one by platform 10 . First time in here and the best station pub I have ever been into by a country mile. Friendly Service, Clean and decent pint of Tribute. This pub would stand up on its own merit in any town or high street. Worth a visit.

The Bull, Otford

My wife and her mother visited here one lunchtime last week and when I asked here how it was she said it was awful for the following reasons. She ordered what was described as sausage in a baguette with wholegrain mustard and chips with a salad garnish. Her mother ordered Jacket potatoe with Tuna mayoniase. What turned up was a samll sausage cut into three small pieces which didn' t fill half the baguette, a thumnail amount of wholegrain mustard ( blink and you would miss it), the sald garnish was one wilted lettuce leaf and the chips were cold. Her mothers jacket potatoe wss hard and the tuna with mayonaise amounted to about two spoonfulls. She said she mentioned it to the bar staff, who just gave here a vacant look and an attitude as if to say "what do you want us to do about it?". Quite simply she won't be going back and I hope the brewery / managment that owns this pub reads this and sorts out the problems here. In this "recession" you think business's would get it right to attract much needed custom. My wife and I eat out at least three times a week in Sevenoaks area and will not be going back or recommnending this place to anybody.

The Elephant, Fenchurch Street

I know exactly who these three suspects are, His name is Clive and they all work in the Insurance Industry allthough it would be unfair of me to say much more than that in case they read this website. Don't drink in to many other pubs nearby although found a couple of good ones recently over in the Clerkenwell Green area although I personally have not posted any reviews yet. The SekefordeArms and The three Kings - worth a visit.

The Pewter. You are actually correct it is a very fine establishment and many a long afternoon and evening have been spent in there with some great people.

Keep contributing to a great website

all the best.

The Pewter has obviously had a couple already or he can't read. My pseudonym is "fancyalightale" not "Fancy A Pint". For the record I was one of the alcoholics who used to drink in here with my other colleagues from the Insurance Market talking about where it all went wrong. Then it went really wrong for me as I ended up working at AIG. Oh I would long for a job in a call centre. The Pewter, any chance of an interview please?

Polhill Arms, Halstead

I have never been into the Pub but drive past it many times a week. There never sems to be anybody in here. I don't know how this place survives as there are hardly any cars in the car park and apart from a small development of council houses off the approach road to Fort Halstead there is hardly any residents around to use this as a local.
Has anybody been here before???
