The Percy Arms, Chilworth

7 of us (+a baby) went to The Percy Arms at 2.15pm on Saturday in search of food, we were seated quickly - the staff were friendly and seating was comfortable with plenty of space.

We ordered... most of the group chose burgers. 25 minutes after ordering maybe, just as we were getting to the "Where is our food" conversation around the table we were informed that there was _no bacon_ for the burgers.. BUT were asked if we would mind the 10 minute extra wait while they went to the shop to get some more. A good solution that everyone was happy with.

The food did arrive shortly after and everyone enjoyed their choices, all dishes were devoured entirely.

The only detriment to the experience was around 3.30pm when we wanted to pay and leave; almost all the staff had disappeared (as had most of the customers I suppose). I and another patron at another table had to go to the bar to pay the bill. A very minor inconvenience but could be improved.

We would return again and would be confident to take friends.

The Villagers Inn, Blackheath

My family, who attempted to visit last night, also report that it is closed.

We have eaten here twice in the past few months.
It is certainly a nice destination for a walk.

The food has been good enough for us to return and want to return more.
The staff have varied in their attentiveness and friendliness, but none have been rude.

The most annoying thing is the general state of the tables when we have eaten. Either the place mats or the table have felt like they could do with a bit more of a clean (or being replaced).

We will be visiting again but probably would look elsewhere for a place to take our more 'up market' family members for food.

The Black Horse, Gomshall

We drove past it this evening - the place is in total darkness and all the windows boarded up!

Looks like its going to be closed for a long while.

The Hurtwood Inn, Peaslake

Been going for around 3 years and not been disappointed yet - had our wedding reception there and they attended to everything perfectly and the room looked fantastic.

Food has always been amazing and everyone who works there is friendly.
Wireless internet (I asked at reception for the key and they did not charge) was also a great help.

I agree about the Thai Restaurant but the newly opened Indian on the floor above is just fantastic - visited around 4 or 5 times now [eat in and takeaway] and have been impressed each time.

The pub seems to have a small amount of people in the bar area - sometimes playing pool. I expect the atmosphere is more "easy eating" rather than "local pub".
