The Trinity Arms, Brixton

This is a proper pub - exactly what a local should be. Great place to sit out front or out back in the beer garden on a sunny day (not that there have been many sunny days in recent memory). Staff are friendly and attentive too. Highly recommended.

Backstage, Brixton

This place is best avoided. It's just a boring room, usually full of people on their way to the Academy. To be honest all the pubs close to the Academy are dumps. Better to go to The Prince Of Walse close to the tube station.

The Prince of Wales, Brixton

I've been living in Brixton for the past 2 years and I always come back to this pub.
There's a nice relaxed atmosphere here, and the staff are always very friendly and cheerful. In fact I always note that all the staff look like they have a great time working here. No nasty attitudes on the door either.
It's good both for a chilled out kick back with a few pints on a Sunday afternoon, and also good for late night club at the weekend. Usually house/techno on Friday and Saturday nights, and the sound system is excellent - nice bass. The clientele are a friendly bunch too. I always have a great night there.
I think the food is excellent - definately one of the better places to eat in cental Brixton. 2 for 1 on Tuesdays has become a weekly ritual for me and my mates.
