Great atmosphere. Real local. Husband loved the ale. Good cider. Top pub.

Visited 15/10/09 with husband. Warm friendly welcome in saloon bar. Good drink selection (although a little pricey). Can't comment on public bar as did not venture in.
Will visit again.

Wow. Visited 13/10/09. I am not sure that because of it being the 13th but OH MY GOD! Very incredibly rude staff, VERY expensive drinks, awful range of snacks, broken furniture and the 'smoking area' came from the local waste tip. Really could do with a coat of paint. And some air freshner.
Avoid like the plague!

The Stags Head, Portslade
Against my better judgement and maybe out of morbid curiosity we visited again on Sunday 8th November. The landlady (at least I think she was) was completely paralytic and ranting, well, incoherently shouting at the staff. It was more of a tirade of bullying and swearing. She also insisted my husband hurry up with his choice of drink because she 'hadn't got all day! ' Charming I am sure. All of this before 5pm!!! Fantastic entertainment. If you like that kind of thing. Personally we felt quite threatened by the woman. It was more uncomfortable than watching a horror movie. How this dump is surviving is a total mystery.
