Reasonable fare, busy place for lunch beside the Beamish Museum. Very popular with old people in sensible shoes and chav stanley types with pikey kids. An odd mix.

How very disappointing this pub has become. As others have found. It used to be a gem in the 90's. Now it has very rude staff. And a barman that swigged a leftover drink! If I worked with those people I would drink too. The beers are now poor, even the IPA was off. An awful night and now a rotten place to go. Avoid.

BRB at The Gate, Alexandra Park
used to be nice, but really the food is terrible, the pizzas are small and stale. the staff are utterly vile and the clientele are scum. Avoid :((
