The Walnut Tree, Mere

A new pub serving the local community very well.

Whislt this definately is a new housing development pub devoid of the charm of a typical thatched pub as other commentaries suggest. However it does have a great selection of ales and lagers, on tap and is always a very welcoming environment. Guest ales usually include one of the smaller local breweries and are always worth a try, as you will often find some true gems.

The landlord excels at looking after the local community and getting them involved with the pub.

The Food is good honest pub grub and doesn't pretend to be one of the new aged gastro pubs. Consequently the prices are good old fashion pub grub prices not new aged gastro prices., and provide excellent value for money.

The Talbot Inn, Berwick St John

Definately a quaint English pub in country setting with a real ales. Great pint of Ringwood available.

Unfortunately we were there early in the evening so not much atmosphere, and the couple on the next table made you feel like you were back at school which you can't hold against the pub.

Food had great portion size for the money but unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. The writing was on the wall when I had a steak and wasn't asked how I would like it cooked!

The Lamb Inn, Hindon

Lovely country Pub. Did you know its been taken over by the Boisedale? Food is good but at restaurant prices and there is a mighty fine selection of malt whiskey's. Beware of the the Belgian Beer it'll hit further for a six than Pieterson.

The Angel, Hindon

This place is a little gem. Brilliant service in an atmospheric pub that has managed keep its local identity while providing excellent quality food. The staff here are worth their weight in gold!!
