The Prince of Wales, Chatham

Awful pub. Most people I know go here because it's convenient but regret it immediately afterwards. The bar staff are rude and unfriendly, the doormen are boisterous, aggressive and verbally abusive for what appears to be no other reason apart from boredom. Terrible atmosphere, if I was in charge, the staff would all be getting their P45's. Don't go near.

Manor Farm, Rainham

Really poor pub. Dull and depressing, full of people either waiting to be served badly-cooked food or sitting around looking lost. The bar staff have no time for you and look like they want a career change. The manager looks about 17 and feels like it's being run by someone that age. Rubbish.

The Red Lion, Blue Town

Great pub, very friendly and a great atmosphere at a weekend. The landlord goes out of his way to talk and interract with the punters and knows his beer. Well worth popping in.

The Command House, Chatham

This has to be one of the best pubs in the area, definately the friendliest. The bouncers, owners, bar staff and clientele are very welcoming and you feel very much at home when you step in the door.

I first went when they had the live music outside and it was amazing right down by the river on a summers day with a cold one. Sid (the landlord) is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and was constantly walking around, talking and joking with the punters.

It is a little on the pricey side but it seems to deter the scumbags from venturing in so it's well worth paying a bit extra.

Best pub in Medway, bar none.

Wagon At Hale, Chatham

Great little pub this, very nice indeed. Was dreading venturing in when it said Karaoke in all honesty but what a surprise - so many talented and versatile singers, great to sit back with a good pint and enjoy. Makes a rare change from ten teenagers singing "Wonderwall" at the tops of their voices.

The Spitfire, West Malling

Very much agree with the comments below. A terrible, atmosphere-free pub with no character in an area that has a reputation locally for being a man-made plastic monstrosity. I hated the pub and the poor service - I went once at lunchtime when it was full of depressed looking workers (they work/live in Kings Hill, can hardly blame them) and once in the evening when it was completely empty. Terrible, leave well alone.
