The North Star, Leytonstone

9.99!!! more like a 4.99 bargain bucket of paint. but the number 1 priority of a pub is to keep the beer good. since you reopened, the carling has been consistently good. take care of the beer and dont let people wind u up mate.

publandlord, i work in the brewery industry, and ive been drinking beer for thirty years, so i do think i know when your beer has "elapsed." you dont win an argument, or impress anybody, by calling everyone who disagrees with you a poof. i can only think you are an angry man cos youve had to drink your own beer for too long.

i read with some hilarity that the landlord claims his beer was always in good condition. every time i went in, the lagers were out of date, and the john smiths was only just passable.

The Hamilton Hall, Liverpool Street

returned for an early morning beer the other day, after a few months. service still patchy even when empty, staff still miserable, like the workers coming out of liverpool street that you can watch go by. depressing. despite decor, soulless.

The Sheepwalk, Leytonstone

atmosphere gone down hill since the sarcastic irish bar staff left, and you don't see many of the regulars that use to drink there, nowadays. the lager tasted like it was past its sell by date the last time i went in, the toilets as ever are in a right state at nights. music quite good though prefer when they use to put it upstairs and give us a choice whether to go up and watch it or not. having said all this you can always get served and i would rather pay an extra 60p per pint than stand in a queue with all the kids in wetherspoons just up the road....no, don't get me started on wetherspoons.
