The Old Manor Inn, Walton on Thames

I agree with richmel, the place feels a lot different now with Dermot at the helm. A good mix of people and great service from Derm and his staff, well recommended.

The Anglers, Walton on Thames

Didn't realise it was a Pitcher & Piano group before, only noticed when I was doing a bit of Google trawling. Seems better than previous efforts, but food is only just above average really, I was hoping something along the lines of The Minnow in Weybridge or The Albany in Thames Ditton. Mind you, they do some pretty damn good cocktails now though!

This is currently closed for refurbishment, yet again, but looks as though it is going to be relaunched as a 'Pitcher & Piano'. Hopefully this should up the ante somewhat and get this pub up to a level it deserves to be at given it's fantastic location!

The Weir Hotel, Walton on Thames

In response to Stevie, I have to say that things have improved considerably, thank goodness! Food is great, in regards to the new menu they have while they are introducing a Frence a la carte menue, very impressed and one of the best melas I had in along time. Beers were good, they have cask marque approval now, and service seemed good as well, and as it's non-smoking was the cherry on top of the cake! I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you go back, and there is live music most Sunday afternoons as well.

The Albany, Thames Ditton

Had my tester dinner last night on the very first that they were accepting a few of the public and first impressions were very good. Food was very good and service not too bad either. A lot of new staff being trained up, which was the point of the evening, who showed a lot of willing and the right attitude and I am sure they will be fine once they get into the swing of things. Decor inside is very nice, hanging spot halogen lights, leather sofa's, and nice modern decor. Good selection of lagers on tap, but only Landlord on tap last night as still trying to get pipes sorted from what I understand. I don't want to say much more as want to keep this place to myself, but come summer this place will be at it's absolute best. Thankfully it looks as though they are going to have the staff to cope with the crowds, something they seemed to suffer from in the past.

The Albany, Thames Ditton

This pub is going through an extensive refurbishment, and due to re-open on 10 March. I am going to a pre-opening dinner beforehand so will let you know the verdict!
