The Marylebone, Marylebone

no reviews for 8 months and suddenly 3 glowing reviews in one day - and all by first time reviewers....coincidence?

The Prince's Head, Richmond

great pub (nivce location, quality staff etc) - but the prices keep rising. Last week another 10p was added to the ales (did I miss a budget?)...in 18 months a pint of Pride has gone up by 50p (>15%)

The Prince of Wales, Twickenham

I really like this pub - large, attractive garden and plenty of drinking room inside... each time I visit (usually weekedn afternoons) I'm always surprised that it's not busier, but if that means I don't have to queue for a pint, so be it

The Roebuck, Hampton Hill

great place to visit after a hike around Bushy Park ... good selection of ales, and reasonably priced german beers (erdinger, rathaus).

the eclectic decor means that there is always something weird & wonderful to look at.

The Red Lion, Isleworth

a definite freehouse with a great selection of ales & cider....only criticism is that the Sunday music sessions start too early (3pm) and are too loud - so it's not a place for a recuperative Sunday afternoon ....but the gigs are very popular, so it's probably just me getting old)

The Sussex Arms, Twickenham

large selection of ales usually from small independent breweries (lately quite a few stouts & porters - always a good thing)....quality is consistently good (on the couple occassions where I was 'blessed' with the bottom of the barrel, the staff were more than happy to change).

The uniform pricing policy (3 ales) makes life easier for everyone and should be adopted by more pubs

For being so close to Twickenham, it is nice that sport is not the focus.

Henry J Beans, Chelsea

cousinhub: today you claim to have been coming to HJB "on and off for over 4 years ", and yet on August 2nd you stated it was your first ever visit ... this glaring contradiction might make some question the impartiality of your reviews
