The Harrington Arms, Sawley

Been here a couple of times while travelling up the A1. So much better than stopping in some overpriced service station! From memory there were about 4 cask beers on offer, with the staff being helpful, and giving samples. It's a foody pub and the meals are on the expensive side, but restaurant quality. Lovely place to while away a couple of hours.

The North Bar, Leeds

I love this place - my favourite city centre bar (it's not really a pub). It's long and narrow with a bar down one side and tables down the other. The beer selection is the best in Leeds, with very good cask ales, and w massive selection of good word beers. The trappist beers are recommended but they will leave you with a sore head and a bit of a light pocket!

The Chemic, Woodhouse

Great pub, with good beer (3/4 ales), nice original interior. Frequented by locals and 'alternative' students (i.e. the ones who aren't in the Oak). Occasional live music. Bags of character and definately recommended.

The Queens Arms, Leeds

Decent foody chain pub. Does what it says on the tin. Normally has a couple of ales on. Clean and relaively busy but can usually get a table.

Three Hullats, Chapel Allerton

Wetherspoons pub so great selection of cheap ale, and ok food. Doesn't have a fantastic atmosphere - not agressive or anythin just a bit dull I'd say.

Arcadia Ale and Wine Bar, Headingley

Great selection of beers. Staff have always been good with me so not sure what the other reviewers are talking about. You can always ask to sample one of the beers out if you're not sure about it. Does get busy at times and it's not the best pub to stand around in. Still my preferred headingley boozer though.
