Arcadia has created a bit of a problem for itself with the extension. It's now twice the size but the bar is the same size as it was before. The queues at the bar on a Friday and Saturday night can be extensive (10-15 minutes to get served). They have started to do some table service I think to mitigate the problem. It's still the best ale pub in Headingley by a country mile though.

The extension is now in place, both upstairs and downstairs.

Great beer, also does food. Only problem today was they were short of bar staff, so long queues at the bar.

As has been said looks nothing special from the outside but worth going in. Usually 4 or 5 cask ales at the bar and some contintental beers, friendly staff and customers and a nice chilled atmosphere. Can get quite full but they plan to extend into next door.

3 Years since my last review so here's an update:

Still a great selection of real ales and continental beers to tempt the connoisseur, ranging in ABV from less the 4 to 10.5; all kept well and served by friendly staff.
Free daily papers, books and games are available if you want to entertain yourselves whilst sampling the delights on offer and if you want to use your laptop, there is free wi-fi too.
Possible expansion into next door, if the license is granted, which will provide more seating and a disabled loo. (summer 2009)
