The Bell House, Camden

Yeah Cellar bar is a treat. Now the macbar has closed, a good alternative

The White Horse Inn, Beverley

A 16 century coaching Inn just winthin the town bar.
You could imagine Cromwell walking in. Wonky old tables, roaring fires, gas lamps and a celing so yellow with nicotine it is practically ocre in colour.

A real atmosphere pub with a heap of history. Known locally as Nellies after one of a pair of sisters who owned it up until the 70's.

The Black Heart, Camden

Nice big airey pub with a modern open plan design. However, this is a hit and miss feature. The initial impressive impact soon wore off and I felt as if i was in a sports centre or an airport lounge. Not very cozy and only full of atmosphere when it has 300 people in.
Food was excellent but, as someone lese previously mentioned, not enough bar staff resulting in having to wait over 45 minutes for food and twice having to go and ask where it was. On the whole lots of potential but a bit of tuning maybe.

The Barfly Club, Chalk Farm

I agree with everyone. Great little club. About as Camden as it gets , However, not a pub except for the building itself. Once called the Monarch.

The Good Mixer, Camden

Fab in its mid 90s heyday. The veritable eye of the Brit Pop hurricane and the local for everyone in North London. Now looking and feeling a bit like the rest of Camden unfortunately. The party was over a few years ago, you bright young things, and all that remains is to sweep up and put the bin bags out for the garbage men to collect. (something they seldom do in NW1)

The Bell House, Camden

The Constitution is something of an Oasis in Camden.
We first chanced by it in mid summer and the flora and fauna of the beer garden was breath taking, both to behold and to smell. It is about as traditional English as it is possible to get. Oak boards, big flaggon tables and warm decor. Suberb Guinness, and a selection of decent ales and lagers. The staff are polite and knew my name by the 3rd time I went in.
The regulars are far less scary than some of them look. They always seem to be telling some tale and seem happy to regail it to freinds and strangers alike. All in all, a real top pub and a good find.
