The Slubbers Arms, Huddersfield

Former Timothy Taylors pub, now independant. The beer range and prices have improved recently and quality is as good as ever. Lovely, traditional corner pub.

Bar 1:22, Huddersfield

Live music, comedy and cabaret are to the fore here, great atmosphere and good acts. The usual range of keg products and one cask ale usually available. Recently opened 'Bar Maroc' upstairs bringing a taste of north africa to Huddersfield. If entertainment is what you seek with a nice pint of traditional beer then well worth popping in.

The Rat and Ratchet, Huddersfield

I have been visiting 'the Rat' regularly for about 5 years now but just recently it seems to have hit a real sweet spot. The Rat has been a real ale and traditional cider pub haven for ages and has been in the good beer guide for 21 years. Its got 13 handpumps for cask, but for me the beers from the newly opened Rat Brewery on site make the difference. Overall the beer tends towards pale and hoppy beers but always 2 dark pumps featuring porters, stouts and mild ales. Usually at least 6 traditional ciders and 2 perries often featuring locally produced 'udders orchard.
