Was once the hang out af the local pimps and prossis now been cleaned up and is a fine ale house just watch yourself round teh local area - not the best part of Huddersfield. zamora250 - 26 Aug 2007 17:33
One of the best pubs in Huddersfield if you like a traditional back street boozer. No juke box, no fruit machine, no TV, if you want them go to a "trendy" bar. If you like a selection of well kept real ales, friendly staff and locals and simple honest bar meals you won't go wrong here. The decor is full of nick nacks handed down through time and a real fire makes the place even cosier, although with 30 people in here it will feel crowded. It is about a 10/15 minute walk from the centre of town and the only pub worth a visit in the area but when they are this good you don't need to go anywhere else. Argonaut1 - 29 Jun 2007 10:55
great idiosyncratic pub, carrying on where the previous landlord, dave green left off. beers are always in top nick, the locals are friendly. well worth the short trip out from huddersfield town centre. birstallblue - 19 May 2007 09:39
Cosy as it's little bigger than your front room but well worth the trip for the quality of the Tim Taylor's Landlord. WeirdAl - 1 Nov 2006 15:24
Now owned by Taylor's (though sporting 1 rotating guest beer) this pub continues to be a little gem in an otherwise fairly dodgy area (Fartown). Beer quality is always excellent as is the selection of very reasonably priced week day lunchtime snacks. Trade seems to be suffering from the corporate witch hunt on lunctime drinking! Please raise your glasses in support! (Best avoided on Huddersfield Town match days - gets overwhelmed). Beermonitor - 21 Oct 2006 13:23
