The Alexandra, Worthing

Under new management of a family new to the trade - all too obvious. Almost unbelievably the quality of the beer has fallen to below the previous "just drinkable" level. BEST AVOIDED , at least for the time being

The White Lion, St Albans

First visit to this pub and having been disappointed @ Lower Red Lion , this pub provided a refreshing change.Staff provided excellent service and dispensed beer in very good condition , albeit just a touch on the cool side.

Agree with earlier comments that this is possibly best pub in St A.Have to say the Red Barrel appealed tomy (probably perverse) sense of humour.

The Cider Bar, Newton Abbot

Stunning cider pub (fruit wines if you wish) with prices @1.60 per pint (1.30 for takeaways) saying it all.

The Great Western Hotel, Exeter

Beer quality very good but this bar is really for those who don`t mind a smokey atmosphere.Building itself in need of some TLC.

The City Gate Hotel, Exeter

Full of suits & students on Fri night-very busy but couldn`t see the attraction unless it was to avoid the extraordinary prices charged for food at lunchtime.Beer quality acceptable but no more.

The White Hart Hotel, Exeter

Bring a very large wallet-pub looks nice but boy do you pay for it.Understandably almost empty(on Fri night)given George`s Meeting House(JDW`s 1st non smoking pub) is almost opposite.
