Closed down and boarded up :(

The Noble, Crouch Hill

Going there right now. Hopefully it's improved since last review.

Now called "Hopsmiths"

The Cittie of Yorke, Holborn

In case you were wondering, they don't have WIFI access. But otherwise one of my favs.

The Duke of Cambridge, Islington

Great place but a little bit on the expensive side. Gets rammed, justifiably. And by the way, speaking as a CAMRA obsessive, CAMRA is cool on the grounds that it has a magazine called BEER. How cool is that? Anyway, Duke of Cambridge didn't make it into the Good Pub Guide, but with a 5.0 from BITE (05/08/07) it's totally underrated here - which belies its crowdedness.

Peter Kavanaghs, Liverpool

think someone should put a photo up, especially after featuring as a CAMRA heritage pub.

The Clachan, Soho

i'm going to start my own campaign to get pubs to open late. OPEN LATE! Stop throwing me out at 11:20!

The Glasshouse Stores, Piccadilly Circus

why don't they get a late license? would make it perfect.

The Blue Posts, Piccadilly

great pub.

The Clachan, Soho

does the clachan still close at normal closing time?

I could really handle somewhere like this that stays open a while.

The Midas Touch, Soho

What time does this joint close?

The Peveril Of The Peak, Castlefield

Didn't rate the Hobgoblin, was a bit insipid. But otherwise good pub. Excellent tiling on the outside, around the doors. Packed of a Friday.

The Pride of Spitalfields, Shoreditch

Good honest pub, small but friendly with excellent beers. Fullers ESB was delicious and several others to choose from. Crowded of a Friday evening.

The Pub on the Park, London Fields

went there yesterday and the red bob (or was it old bob?) was excellent. Shame I had to work this morning.

Way to smokey for kids though, and to ward off any potential abuse from blackboru, the crowd was convivial as well.

24 Oct 2005 20:34

The Cross Keys, Covent Garden

the crowd spills out onto the street but there are a couple of tables outside.

All Bar One, Regent Street

it's got big windows and a nice view out onto the heart of Saturday Night. Get that reference ;)

The Cask and Glass, Victoria

Good little pub, nice beer, seats outside too.

19 Jan 2005 18:49

The Intrepid Fox, St Giles

strange place, mixture of pub & cafe it seemed, not big but not too crowded late on Friday.

19 Jan 2005 18:36

The Cross Keys, Covent Garden

Small & full of strange people. Smokey but great beer.

19 Jan 2005 18:33

The Princess Louise, Holborn

Gorgeous old decor, open fire place, good beer. Not at all crowded on Friday, dunno why.

19 Jan 2005 18:29

The Lamb, Bloomsbury

good solid pub, decent beer, rammed on a friday
