The Star and Anchor, West Ealing

This is by far my favourite pub in the area for a beer now. After a couple of years of languishing with identikit lagers and the odd nice ale, they now have two nice handpulls, a kegged IPA, a 'craft' lager and dozens and dozens of bottles from around the world.

It's not the cheapest place around, but you get a really nice crowd in, and the decor, staff and food are all fantastic

The Lawyer, Norwich

It is more (Thai) restaurant than pub, but none the worse for it. I've had some great meals in here, but also have been made to feel very welcome when just drinking as well

The Belgian Monk, Norwich

I always gravitate towards this place when I'm back in Norwich. Yes it's not cheap, but the range and quality of the Belgian beers and the knowledge of the bar staff mean that it's certainly good value. Try the Delirium Tremens

The Castlebar, West Ealing

Stripe on tap, big screens on the wall - a great place to watch the footie with the boys. Bosh

Flanagans, West Ealing

One of the friendliest Irish pubs that I've been to in London, and by far the best pint of Guinness. Colin the landlord (along with some pretty stunning bar staff) is always on hand for some good craic and it's a great place to watch some sport as well. Roll on the summer barbecues in the garden!
