The Waggon and Horses, Surbiton

OK, so I thought I'd give the place a second chance. It only took 35 mins to be served on this occasion and having to loose my patience with one member of staff who then told me to "fuck off" as he was busy. Busy doing what who knows, not serving customers apparently. This place could be great and did feel quite sorry for the poor american bar maid who was obviously trying her best. Witnessed multiple bad comment about the quality of food. I should have followed my own advice and not returned after their opening night; but i thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. I should't have. I haven't ever been sworn at by a member of bar staff before and was quite shocked by the whole experience. The manager is a rude young chap who has seemingly gone deaf when any customer attempts to speak to him. The Waggon and Horses has now managed to combine being the most over priced and poorly managed pub ever.

The Lamb, Surbiton

Great pub run by wonderful people. Full of character and great fun. Their cheese nights tend to be fully booked up well in advanced but that because they are great. It is on the expensive side beer wise, but otherwise it's my favourite pub in Surbiton and feel lucky we have such a place.

The Waggon and Horses, Surbiton

Opening night being under new management and a need refurbishment. Looks great though I dont get the appeal of sitting outside next to a busy road taking in the traffic fumes in the new front garden area. Music was great. Service however was appalling. It was busy but considerably less so than any other pub in the area on a Friday night and yet with double the amount of staff they were unable to serve people. Having waited 20 mins to be served I gave up and had a gander round the new surroundings (thinking they might be able to sort themselves out); very nice. Came back waited for another 25 mins with only the same 4 other people waiting at the bar and then gave up. The staff were nice but as much use as a bunch of headless chickens. We all expect teething problems when a pub reopens and I have taken that very much into account, however when I go to pub I would like to be able to buy a drink but that seems almost impossible here and I will not be using the place again. A complete mismanaged joke. Please dont waste your time.

St Marks Tavern, Surbiton

They have recently lost their only decent members of staff. If you like being short changed; spoken to rudely and you credit card cloned this is the place to go. They are currently being investigated by the police. New deputy manager has been investigated before for thieving.
