Ye Old Red Cow, Smithfield

Just called in on a Saturday evening, and although the decor is basic, it had a good range of uncommon beers on the bar: Redemption Hotspur; Darkstar Hophead; Sambrook Wandle; and Bristol No. 7. Definitely worth a visit.

The Gun, Shoreditch

I had my drink cleared away while I was in the loo and my companion wasn't looking, and the surly Scottish landlord couldn't care less. Losing a quid's worth of beer is trivial, but bad management like that is just stupid.

The Moon Under Water, Hounslow

The best beer pub in Hounslow and almost certainly the best Wetherspoons in London. Peter, the landlord, is a beer enthusiast himself and always keeps at least six (6) real ales available. Food is standard for Wetherspoons.

The Two Brewers, Barbican

Friendly backstreet pub opposite a Waitrose, and on Whitecross Street which has a foodmarket on Thursdays and Fridays. You can take food into the Two Brewers to eat with your drinks. Standard beers are Greene King IPA and Fullers London Pride.
