The Blue Bell, Asfordby

Sorry to tell you this but the Bell has been no more for a few years now.. The other two pubs in Asfordby are still there and open.

The Boat Inn, Melton Mowbray

If you want to go to a "real" pub, like they used to be, cosy, friendly and you can talk without having to shout at the person a foot away but can still hear the music.
Bar staff great, great choose of real ale well kept and served ...Great pub..

The White Hart, Harby

The White Heart Was a pub for years. Then a Cantonese restaurant and still a good pub.. But now it has gone, all gone! The Nags Head ( I played darts for the Nags 35 years ago) has always in my time scale been the most popular of the village pubs..

The Black Swan, Melton Mowbray

The Black Swan it seems is up for sale again. So I've been told... So brave takers that want "locals" that like to do sports as well as watch them (only darts, pool and football) apart from that they also did "Crib & domino's ... If I've missed any I'm sorry.lol.
Also there is a smoking area in the yard for the less healthy people that like the Black Swan, ..And there are more than a few of them

Half Moon, Melton Mowbray

On the whole I agree with melton69.the times me have gone into this pub the staff and punters have all been friendly, but we did not go in there thinking we were better than, and looking down on the "regulars" in the pub. The building is old and being on a slope is on two floor levels that would not have seemed as bad with all the rooms that it had when new.
I do have to say that I am not a regular but the dozen or so times in the last 18 months I've been in there the Bass was fair to good(never made my tummy bad)but never top class.

Totally agree its got well served ale at an ave(some nights under ave ) price .. Good juke box loud enough to hear but not so loud you can't talk to the person by your side. Good tribute bands and artists at the weekend. A landlord that cares about his punters. A darts team again (Monday night for them that arn't from this area) But best of all it can be called a "local" again, first time since "Roy (chubby) Brown" R.I.P or even "Tony" that had to take a pub in Coventry left it.. Those that had the place between then and now I won't comment on as I was told by me Mam " If you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything."
