The Pipe and Slippers, Montpelier

Amazing choice of spirits and beers - including the new Beer Factory local ales, the Pipe and Slippers is a must on and GLoucester Road crawl.

Cracking DJs, great food (Hmmmmmm piiieee) and a really nice atmoshpere I'd recommend this place to anyone.

one30, Stokes Croft

Gastro bar, owned by the same guys who run Bell's Diner around the corner.

Superb food, and reasonable continental beers - if a little dear.

The Cadbury House, Montpelier

Nice garden, which is great in the summer if you don't mind the occasional whiff od a 'jazz' cigarette.

Serves Doom Bar, Gem, Thatchers Gold, Kronenbourg - Regular and Blanc, and does cheaper 4 pint jugs, it's a lively place that does pretty good late license parties once every couple of months with some decent DJs turning out in support.

The Magic Box, Bristol

No longer owned by Wetherspoons, but by Scottish and Newcastle I believe, this place still does *very* cheap beer and hence attracts the local AA members. Lacking in atmosphere, but full of crackheads in the toilets I'd avoid it like the plague.

The only reason you'd go here is if you're totally skint and are after a place to get loaded before you move onto somewhere decent

The Beaufort, Montpelier

Quiet little boozer in the heart of Montpelier. Remarkable cheap beer, very friendly staff, and a real community feel to the place all add up to a relaxing little place for a last orders beer
