user reviews of the Beaufort, Montpelier

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A basic, no frills, locals pub. The left hand bar area has an unusual floor, it looks like concrete with a screed on it. There’s some bench seating around the perimeter covered in orange vinyl. All the punters seemed to be locals who were known by name, but they were all friendly enough. Reggae music was playing and the landlady was enjoying singing along.

The right hand lounge bar has a cosier feel with wooden flooring and more attractive seating, although there was nobody in here on a recent Wednesday night.

Beers on offer were Butcombe and Webster’s bitter. Ciders were Thatcher’s Gold and Blackthorn. Unusually there was also a pump for hot mulled wine.

Lovely old boozer in the same hands for donkey's years. I wish they'd have a better range of beer - there's only Butcombe on (in o.k. condition) or Webster's! A couple of guest ales would make this place the business. The most polite and friendly staff (and welcome) going though and the best takeaway curry in Bristol right next door. A pleasent alternative from the Cadbury.

Lovely pub, lovely people (both sides of the bar).

Quiet little boozer in the heart of Montpelier. Remarkable cheap beer, very friendly staff, and a real community feel to the place all add up to a relaxing little place for a last orders beer
