The Tynecastle Arms, Edinburgh

Nice old pub, even has a coal fire in the winter... don't think it's changed in 20 years! (that's a good thing (sort of)). Beer seems ok, fair choice etc but don't look for any real ales.. head up to the Diggers for that :-)

The Wheatsheaf Inn, Gorgie

Shut Down and now a dance studio :-(

The Westfield Bar, Gorgie

Now opened again!... quite good for watching footy etc and prices quite good in comparison to some other pubs around about. Staff seem friendly enough AND they pay attention, the bar man knew what i wanted on my 2nd visitbefore I asked! :-)

The Marton Arms, Thornton in Lonsdale

This place has been taken over by an employee (Sue, i think) from an ealier time when the pub was great, after reading some of the previous bits of feedback I was slightly wary of what i'd find.... and? No Worries at all!.... the beer, food and even the accomodation looks to be back to it's absolute best of a few years ago... well recommended and once more one of my favourite pubs of all time :-)

The Busy Bee, Gorgie

This pubs now shut down.
Great pity, was always a nice quiet place to go for a pint, not the sort of place to take the wife mind! Had a name as being rough but that was 20 years ago... of all the pubs I've been too (a lot) this is the one I've seen the least (no) "bother". No real ale or anything but still... end of an era... *sigh*

The Hebrides, Edinburgh

Great wee pub... sometimes dead quiet (great for a quickie when you get off the train) and other times it's pandemonium and as it's so small it can be a bit of a squeeze.. great atmosphere all the same. If you want to try an "original" pub in Edinburgh then this is worth at least a pint of your time.
