Clarendon Arms, Cambridge

This a great little oub with very freindly staff. The landlord was kind enough to lend me a ladder to get a shoe off the roof of a house (Another story entirely) on the promise that I A) brought the ladder back B) we came and drank in his pub. I'm glad i followed through with both of my promises. The beer was good as was the food, which was very reasonably priced. The pub was getting busy as we ate our food but this only added to this great little pub.

Thanks for lending me the ladder. I would have been shoeless until returning to Suffolk!

The Champion of the Thames, Cambridge

We visited this pub as part of a crawl around Cambridge. This was one of the more friendly places we visited throughout the day. The bar tender (possibly landlord) was incredibly welcoming. My friends weren't quite sure what they wanted to drink and the bar tender was more than happy to offer a sample to help make our decision. The pub itself was very well kept with a bit of character and the pork stratching were great too. We all commented at the end of the day that this pub was our favourite of the day. Keep up the good work.

The Kings Head, Woodbridge

Easily one of the busiest pubs in Woodbridge, Friday and Saturday nights can be a bit hectic, get there early if you want to sit down! During the rest of the week tables can usually be found. The pub has a good selection of beers and lagers. The beers on tap are all Adnams beers, with Broadside, Regatta and Bitter usually being the ones on sale Others are added from time to time, such as Adnams Tally Ho, which added over the Christmas period. The usual lagers can be found as well.

Cherry Tree Inn, Woodbridge

Easily one the best pubs in Woodbridge if you fancy a quiet pint with a good selection of beers. It has a good sized beer garden to the rear. The pub itself is full of character and generally a nice place to be. The Thursday night quiz is always good fun, even if we come last (again). I've never had any problems with any of the staff, their beers or their food.

The Old Mariner, Woodbridge

The landlords of this pub are two of the grumpiest and rudest men i have come across in a long time. They are cold and unwelcoming with little in the way of people skills. It seems that as long as you are over 50 and part of their clique of older men and women, then you are more than welcome however anybody under 30 is made to feel unwelcome and the landlords will show their dislike for you if you are.

The only thing it really has going for it is its good selection of beers and the fact it is tidy. With a change of management to somebody who is less rude, patronising, short tempered and vaguely happy, this has the potential to be a great put. Until then it is far from it.
