Henry Addington, Canary Wharf

Awful. It's just undergone a refurbishment. They've changed the decor, but the service is still pathetic and they often run out of certain beers, which in my opinion is sinful. Come to think of it they have been known to run out of food at lunchtime too. The staff seem disgruntled and slow (another major sin at lunchtime), they have a fair mix of booze, but I cant say its anything special. Maybe it's different in the evening but at lunchtime Id rather play on the A13!

The Old Sergeant, Chase End

Its great. Recently re-opened and a really nice surprise. Genuine, friendly and very competent staff, and a fair selection good beers that are properly looked after too. A dirty great TV for the football or rugby, and a pool table. The layout of the pub provides at least 3 specific areas that lend to a natural separation; Chavs over there, older gents over there, the rest of you in the middle.

Cricketers, Enfield

Its not as dire as some might say. Its not cheap but you dont leave feeling mugged. They have a fair selection of beers and wines, often with decent guest beers. It can be hellish to get served on busy nights due to the layout of the pub. The staff are competent and friendly but if you cant get close to the bar (because of all the over 40s and their Molls smoking there) then theyre not going to see you. Unfortunately, you can experience that who the hell are you feeling as you walk through the door. Must try harder 5/10!

The Enfield Arms, Enfield Town

The arms is quiet simply the best pub in Enfield Town (as long as your not a delicate flower, and even then youll probably enjoy it!). The combination of friendly, competent (and often fruity) staff and a relaxed but boisterous atmosphere makes for a great evening/afternoon/morning out. It is a travesty that its going Ive yet to be kicked out of this pub. And those that are frightened of the toilets should simply piss-in-the-car-park, everyone else does! Not the place to take a first date unless your both pierced and into Metallica. A great mix of people drink in there and its all the better for it.

The Southbury Hotel, Enfield

This could be a wonderful pub. It has the facilities and location to be a really good pub, but sadly it is run and staffed by people who seem not to care. The beer is simple but mainly good, nothing special but what they do serve is generally good, Limited Bitters, plenty of Alcopops. The Dcor is typical (why do they all have books in them?) The service is frustratingly poor. The big screen TV certainly attracts a football crowd but often theyll choose to show a Portuguese version of Sky showing Villa Vs Blackburn rather than England Versus Ireland in the last game of the Six Nations (I know that is very specific but its still bugs me). It will always do well because there are no other pubs in the immediate vicinity However it does have to compete (and loose out I feel) to the likes of TGI Fridays and Old Orleans. At the end of the day I drink there because it is close to the gym! PS The Southbury is busy but never busty!
