The Bispham Hotel, Blackpool

This is a splendid ale house! Originally recommended by Lord Spooky (no relation), this pub boasts a fine selection of Samuel Smiths ales in attractive glasses which retail at highly reasonable prices.

The Old Vic, Preston

A decent pub to use if you've got a half hour to spare inbetween trains - just opposite the main station entrance.

Although the exterior has recently been given a lick of paint, the interior is starting to look a little shabby although there are always 3 or 4 real ales to choose from.

Limited food menu available, and very small concrete beer garden.

The Bispham Hotel, Blackpool

An absolutely marvelous ale house with Sam Smiths ales a'plenty. Within walking distance of Bispham tram stop, there is simply no excuse not to travel on a Blackpool Corporation Tram to and, if possibly from, this fine establishment.

The Ox, Abingdon

A good ox.

The Strawbury Duck, Entwistle

Good country ale house which features very nice food and a good selection of real ales - one of which comes from the splendid local Bank Top Brewery.

Worth a trip - especially if out walking around Entwistle.

The Finishers Arms, Bolton

The Finishers used to be a fine pub which offered Greenalls and Boddingtons on draft to its many regular customers.

Then it went downhill.

Having been under new management for the past two or three years, the pub has got both its real ale and its customers back and is well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Features a good juke box and now serves food!

The Lord Raglan, Halliwell

If you're bored on a Friday night and fancy a spot of fisticuffs then the Raglan is the place for you.

If you'd rather do something a little more interesting then there's really little else for you here.

The Parkers Arms, Newton in Bowland

Fantastic pub.

Large beer garden on the gentle slope of a hill offers fantastic views of the Ribble Valley and will provide the backdrop for a splendid summery Saturday afternoon.

In winter you're treated to a roaring open fire and cosy furnishings.

Real ale and good food available all year round. In many ways it's the perfect country ale house.

The New Inn, Clitheroe

This is a most enjoyable ale house and comes replete with open fires, traditional furnishings, and friendly staff. There are several different rooms to explore and the pub is kept in excellent condition.

The New Inn doesn't serve food but more than makes up for it with an extensive range of reasonably priced real ales and a good selection of wine (for a pub). The clientele are largely aged 30 and above, and includes a fair share of lady customers which adds to the pleasant atmosphere.

The pub can get rather busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Crown Inn, Accrington

Friendly ale house to frequent for both a pre and post-match drink if visiting Accrington Stanley, which is no more than a minute's walk from here.

Small selection of real ales, convivial atmosphere and during the summer months there is a Shed Bar round the back.
