A short tram ride from the North pier and I alight at Bispham for the 5 minute walk to this Art Deco pub, as I approach I immediately think it's closed and on it's backside...how wrong was I!

The large circular wooden bar is in front of you as you enter and they have full Samuel Smiths range on offer. I order a pint of Sovereign bitter and am blown away when the barmaid charges me £1.82...why don't we have pubs this good & cheap in the South !!

The interior of this pub is stunning, the vast majority of the Art Deco features have been kept and there's Art Deco style mirrors hanging in the 2 rooms that flank the main entrance. Original coving around the walls and the centre dome is also still in place.

Busy on my visit with the majority being blokes over 50 who are chatting in groups and studying the horses.

Visually stunning inside, cheap and cracking beer, good banter all in all this is a superb pub.

10/10 for me and I don't give this score often.

Excellent value pub - as has been said it is £1.80 for a pint of Sam Smith's Bitter and very good it was too - I had a second! Art Deco interior and it apeared to be used more by locals than tourists even though it is a very short stroll from the tram stop. Well worth visiting just for the cheap beer if nothing else. Friendly lady behind the bar. I am always amazed by Sam Smiths - everything they sell is their own brand (no Bacardi just White Rum - even the crisps have their own brand on them). Recommended boozer.

Situated at the far northern end of the Promenade, the interior of this pub is reminiscent of a Wetherspoons with its open plan interior and noisy drinking environment. It's a Sam Smith's pub with Old Brewery Bitter available on handpull. The place was quite busy with only one person serving. She was doing a miraculous job considering the number of people who were waiting. She'd clocked the order of everybody arriving at the bar and served them in the correct order or 2 at a time. This is definitely the sign of a good barperson. Needless to say she was unable to collect glasses. As a result the place was looking very untidy. The landlord/landlady obviously don't care too much for retaining customers.
