Piccadilly Tap, Manchester

Went to kill time before my train and ended up wishing I could stay longer. 7 cask and 20 keg options as well as a fridge of bottle and can options for the train. Prices reasonable and service good. Will definitely return when next passing through.

The Talbot Hotel, Tregaron

Well worth a visit. Under energetic new ownership since 2011 and much improved. Named CAMRA Ceredigion Pub Of The Year in April 2012.

The Sussex Arms, Twickenham

I looked in last night and was impressed with the re-furb, the selection and quality of the beers plus the friendliness of the staff. I will be back. I had no idea that the garden would be as big as it is.

The Old Anchor, Twickenham

I've used this pub several times in recent months and have never found the proprietors anything but helpful and pleasant. The landlord is quite shy which might be mis-interpreted at first contact. The beer is very well kept and the bar is blissfully free of fruit machines unlike most local alternatives. I've heard good reports of the food but haven't bentured beyond Nobby's nuts as yet.

The Frog, Bidford On Avon

A friend and I had lunch at The Frog on a Monday en route to Stratford races. The place was empty and our hopes weren't high. However, the meals we had were superbly prepared and excellent value. From info in the bar it seems that it came under new ownership in March 2008 and is about to celebrate the first anniversary.

The Old Anchor, Twickenham

The last comment regarding the beer is way off the mark. I use the pub regularly because it serves the best pint of bitter around. I've heard that this has recently been recognised with an entry in the Good Beer Guide (according some CAMRA info at the recent Twickenham Beer Festival). A proper pub.
