The Ash Tree, Ashton Under Lyne
Pub has improved since I was last in. Some new staff show willing but those who have been there a while are still lazy and ignorant. The prices here are a lot more than other Wetherspoons in the area and even 2 in Leeds city centre! Speaking to some of the regulars who told me of this establishment closing early on the whim of the staff. Rumour has it that vivaronaldo is a staff member.

Quite a decent Wetherspoons - a lot better than the Ash Tree in Ashton. Good choice of cask ales at excellent prices. Service can be slow at busy times.

Oh dear, this place has really gone downhill. The service is awful - I thought Wetherspoons establishments were bad. The beer, although very good, is extortionate - London prices. The place is FILTHY - empty glasses and plates on every table. Do yourself a favour - stay on the train to Huddersfield and go in The Head of Steam buffet bar.

The Bowling Green, Ashton-under-Lyne
Has just had a makeover at long last and a very good one at that. No wonder all the deadlegs and alcos who frequent the place think they're in the Dorchester. Beer still �1.30 an excellent.

Has just been given a lick of paint and a spruce up, it needed it. The beer is absolutely superb. Which other seafront pub in England could you get 4 pints of bitter and change from�6?

What more can I say after reading these reviews? I agree with them all, Tim Martin MUST visit this Wetherspoons. I have not been in one worse - anywhere. You wait for ages to be served and the looks you get if you use one of the latest vouchers is unbelievable. Give it a miss and go elsewhere.

Now called the Engine Room. Plenty of guest beers, mostly excellent. Food good as well. All the TVs have been taken out so there are now no idiot football fans in
