The Brewers Arms, South Petherton

We stopped off from the A303 whilst travelling back from a festival and were really pleased with this little gem. The food was really tasty - especially the home cooked chips with the lamb burger. The beer was well kept and a great choice.....shame we will miss the upcoming beer festival :-(
There was plenty of choice for seating (bar, restaurant) and a fantastic outdoor area with large climbing wall and giant noughts and crosses for the kids.

The Bishop Lacey, Chudleigh

We stopped by on a quiet lunchtime with our 4 year old twin boys and were given a very friendly welcome by the landlady, regulars and the pub dogs. The fish and chips was fantastic and the beef pie delicious. The children's food was very generous and yummy. We left thoroughly full and well entertained!!

The William IV, Albury

Don't go there if you have young children. Similar to previous comment, children are clearly not welcome, just tolerated. Went there with my wife and two four year old boys on a quiet Saturday late afternoon, there must have been a couple at the bar and a handful of customers in the garden. My boys are pretty good in pubs, the odd high pitched squawk and wander - one of my boys was actually shown a football style yellow card (in jest?) which I thought was a bit odd. No explanation was given, probably because he walked from our seat at the front door into the garden. He didn't really understand as he hasn't ever been shown one before (being only four). I think they should just either ban young children or lighten up a bit.

The High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells

Arrived at the pub on the August bank holiday, late afternoon after travelling on the Spa Valley Railway. The pub was fairly empty with just a couple of people sitting in the garden. We asked if we could take a dog inside which we couldn't do - fair enough, many pubs don't allow dogs indoors. When we sat outside, we were asked by the waiter to move further into the garden in case our soppy pointer who was now sleeping under the table "scared people". We moved, back to the railway station. Dont bother going if you've got a dog.
