We stopped by on a quiet lunchtime with our 4 year old twin boys and were given a very friendly welcome by the landlady, regulars and the pub dogs. The fish and chips was fantastic and the beef pie delicious. The children's food was very generous and yummy. We left thoroughly full and well entertained!!

At least 4 real ales on when I was there, 2 of them local (and no sign of a lager tap either, though I didn't look hard). The ale I tried was in excellent condition. The staff were very friendly.

The Bishop Lacey is not just good for food but it's real ale is where it's at! about 6 to 8 on at any one time and 2 or 3 of them are gravity fed, Beer has always been in tip top condition when i've been there after watching Plymouth Albion Beat Exeter Chiefs on a few occasions! Robin the Landlord is always welcoming and likes the banter. Great decorations in the public bar with witches and hobgoblins hanging from the ceiling! can be load on a Saturday night now they have a late license but never the less, it's a great pub with great beer and is always in the good beer guide.

Great locals pub.. excellent food and offers a terrific take away food service as well. It also has a late night club as well called 'Room 51' which is open at the weekends and often has live acts, well worth a visit if looking for something to eat or even if you are just looking for a drink, Landlord Robin 'Bish' Bishop - an ex marine - is rugby mad so be prepared to hear a few stories of Rugby and past Army days...and watch out for Wendy Bish's laugh..it's....infectious!!
