The Rose and Crown, Stafford

A very high quality refurbishment has turned the Rose and Crown into a superb pub. Joules three beers are all excellent, the atmosphere in the pub is fantastic, great landlord and staff. Hard to fault a place like this, Joules have got it just right. The bar snacks go well, from a local supplier and they do some great sandwiches! Another pint of Pale please!

The Railway, Stafford

A very characterful pub, well worth a visit for the superb Bass and the roaring fire on cold days. The pub has changed little over the years and is all the better for that. The regulars are a friendly bunch and the landlord a great bloke. Recommended.

The Lamb, Broad Eye

I have been using the Lamb for a few years now, not every day but if I'm in Stafford I do like to call in there. 4 handpulls on. The Bombardier is usually on form as it seems to be their most popular beer. Sharp's Doombar was on the last couple of times Ive been in. The pub is what it is, a town pub, very handy for the bus stops outside. They have showers for the truck drivers parked up over the road. The regulars in there are the friendliest you will find, as are the staff, there is always some good banter going on.

One of the nicest pubs in Stafford.

Plaza, Rugeley

Not a bad Spoons, one of their older ones. After a period of terrible ale quality things have been much better over the last few years. There is usually a varied selection, along with the Abbot and Ruddles resident ales. Blythe Bridge Staffie is usually on as it is popular with a few of the regulars and managers Mark and Anna do try to get beers in by request. They have done well in the time they have been there, proper handled pint glasses are another of their welcome additions! They had to bring in charging for the car park as it was being abused by people working or shopping in the town and parking all day there with no intention of using the pub. The parking charge is refunded at the bar for customers. Like all Spoons the all day lot can be found there but they are normally a friendly enough bunch, as are the bar staff, Rugeley has the best staff Ive seen in any Wetherspoons, they are a great asset to the pub.

So, its a Wetherspoons, not a bad one though and worth a look if youre having a walkabout to the Vine, Albion and Red Lion.

Vine, Rugeley

One of my favourite pubs. This is a free house, one of the best and oldest pubs in Rugeley. Always a warm welcome, the staff are great and there is usually someone to have the banter with. Draught Bass has been the Vine's speciality for years and is always spot on. There is usually also another real ale on, Holden's Bitter recently. On cold days they have a lovely fire burning. The pub has changed little in the 30 odd years Ive been using it, long may it stay that way.

Great pub, great atmosphere and superb beer.

The Talbot Inn, Brereton

Sadly The Talbot has been lost for good and is to be a childrens nursery.

Fond memories of a great local.

Red Lion, Rugeley

One of the nicest, friendliest pubs in Rugeley and very historically interesting. Very good Bank's Bitter! They allow parking all day on their car park for a pound and it goes to the Air Ambulance.

Pig & Bell, Rugeley

Sadly another Rugeley pub gone. This is now a takeaway!
