The Norfolk, Colchester

Used to be a little bit old-man-and-dog, look-at-you-when-you-walk-in, if you know what I mean. Looking forward to seeing what it's like after a refurb.

The Bricklayers, Colchester

The Bricklayers is our local and we do like popping in for a pint of something Adnams. It's a shame non-smokers are bombarded by cigarette smoke in the garden now; we've ended up sitting inside on a lovely hot day to get away from it.

The Hospital Arms, Colchester

Yay - you can always find a good pint of Aspall's here. Mmm

The Purple Dog, Colchester

I love this pub! It used to be tatty and full of scary pervy old men but it's now bright, with great decor and music, not-stupidly-pricey drinks, plenty of seating.

Excellent.

Picasso's, Colchester

Cocktails are good fun, it's just a shame it's tiny, noisy and in a 60's shopfront.

The Hole in the Wall, Colchester

I like it. Nicely done up inside, good food, good beers. Thumbs up!

Ye Olde Marquis, Colchester

Oh and the beams aren't fake - the building is really ancient!

Ye Olde Marquis, Colchester

As someone else has mentioned, this pub has recently changed hands, but it's the better for it. The food and service has improved, and there are not regular pub quizzes and other events. Plus, the football has stayed!
