The Queen Dowager, Teddington

Someone has been leading a campaign and spreading ridiculous rumours and malicious gossip. Some of the community do not support this pub and it appears to be neglected by Youngs - a succession of landlords have tried hard but it needs investment.

This is a nice pub, well run, friendly, good beer, good food (the paninis, bangers and mash, fish n chips etc are all good).

The Windmill, Cricklewood

I reccomend this place in good weather but otherwise it's mediocre at best.
Terrace at back is quite nice.
Service dreadfully confused.
Owner is a moron who was berating his willing but slightly helpless staff.
Atmosphere soul less.
Restaurant prices, dubious quality.

Seems to bemore interested in being a hotel than a pub.

The Harp, Covent Garden

Nice, friendly pub, good service

The Leicester Arms, Piccadilly Circus

Good pub, good food, excellent management.

The Abercorn Arms, Teddington

I drink wine & real ale - both will occasionally be off - most of the time it is not the proprietors fault.
Friendly, homely Youngs house in good order.
The cartoons on the wall could go in the bin, the pool table attracts some yobs but otherwise a nice pub.
Was here on a friday night when all the kids come in -now the Waldegrave is closed they lay siege to the near bar.

The beer is fine & so are Mel & Linda.
(Norman who used to run the Dowager was working in here recently so be grateful for small mercies in both pubs...)

The Masons Arms, Teddington

Very shabby decor. Desperately in need of money spent on it. Pub cos have got to put a bit of cash into a coat of paint at least.

Redeemed by friendly affable service. A nice father & son seem to run it.
No wonder grotty back street boozers are becoming extinct. In a timewarp.

The Hogarth, Teddington

Full of Chavs / lager louts.
Big screen football kills all other attempts to make this a nice pub.

This could be such a good pub.
For the number of women who venture in, it must just as well be a gay pub.

The Adelaide, Teddington

A friendly, cosy winter pub.
Nice wine & beer. Annoyingly we get kicked out of the garden 2 hours before the pub closes (where can we smoke?)
Good service, snug interior (why do they always have to have the TV on with sport?) but not a summer pub. The Tide End by the river or the Queen Dowager's super garden are better bets.

The Park Lodge Hotel, Teddington

I agree the toilets are not great. God knows what the gents loos are like if the ladies are this bad

The Park Lodge Hotel, Teddington

The comment about taking your grandparents here is so true. It is safe, comfortable & ok when it is full but a bit boring. Vast swathes of empty tables most of the time.
Safe, corporate, dull.

The Tide End Cottage, Teddington

Nice pub.
A bit corporate with the studios & Hayarket & excellent outside seating area.
Nice wine list.

The Kings Head, Teddington

Pub is not bad - garden is okay for smokers.
Food in pub is so so.
Food in the Auberge excellent but hideously expensive

The Teddington Arms, Teddington

Good pub.
Teddington has lots of nice pubs & this is the best.
Full of office types.
Wine list is good as apparently are the real ales

The Clock House, Teddington

Don't - no seriously don't go in.
Teddington has some lovely pubs - this is not one of them.
This pub is appalling.
Presumably every one who is barred from every other pub in town.

The Builders Arms, Teddington

After the well documented aggro of last summer this pub is now finding its feet again. Good new landlady made us feel very welcome

The Marquis of Anglesey, Lisson Grove

Decent pub, nice landlord, some friendly locals, ropey area.

The Queen Dowager, Teddington

I now live in South East London but was born & bred in Teddington. The Queen Dowager had a stark choice, change or die. Pleasantly surprised - at new improvements - dimmer lights, good soft furnishings, lovely artwork (Clark Gable, Robert de Niro, Brando with his shirt off...). New bloke is taking the place in the right direction.
Nice sun terrace & wine selection.

Ignore comments of those wanting the pub back the way it was when it was packed every night (most people now have central heating & colour TV at home so dont spend every night in the pub)

The Prince Regent, Herne Hill

We all like the Regent - the staff are excellent, hospitable & friendly - I even liked Al Murray.
I eat here regularly - the food is fresh & whilst not cheap represents value for money.
Good selection of wines, nice sun terrace at front in the good weather.
Female friendly.
Sunday roasts excellent.

The Prince Regent, Herne Hill

Thought I would add my two penny worth...
Whlst several staff are miserable, most are happy, efficient and eager to please.
This is a regular hang out for us & the atmosphere is great, it is clean and female friendly.
New manager is a breath of fresh air - polite, funny and welcoming.
Food is excellent & sensibly priced, the olives & nuts are good, My boyfriend likes the real ales.
A decent wine list, free bread with oil and vinegar is a plus, imaginative mix of traditional & modern ingredients on the menu. I can recommend the Fish stew, the Fishcakes, Figs and Parma ham and the Sunday Roasts. Oh & the creme brulee is heavenly.
