The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town

This is my local, and has been for years. The restaurant is still good, good value for money, good quality food, good service.

The drinking area is small with tables being used by people eating who haven't booked for the restaurant.

The only areas you can escape the smell of drains and toilets are in the restaurant and in the conservatory. The seating area either side of the toilets is almost unbearable and has been for at least a year - haven't the owners noticed yet?

Staff tend to ignore it and change the subject when you ask them about it...

Have stopped going.

The Oxford, Kentish Town

Love it! Grown up - good food, nice drinks - nice upstairs bar too.
Furniture a bit ropey sometimes, but a pub for adults, not pouting teens!

The Dartmouth Arms, Dartmouth Park

Use the Dartmouth regularly & like the 'poncy ciders'!Food is good & well priced 5.00 for cod & chips on Fridays!
It is very smokey though - staff have to work hard to keep the restaurant area smoke free. This will all change on July 1st & I will go even more often!

Bar Lorca, Tufnell Park

We too live locally & use this bar regularly.
Far from it 'always being dead' it has established itself as a busy bar on Friday & Saturday evenings. Rum & beer are good - tapas too - we've eaten there on several occassions & never been 'bed ridden' as a result. Music is quite good too at weekends. It is a grown ups bar though, with a very different target audience from The Boston. If you want Irish music & drunken irish men, then that's the place for you. If you want a more comfortable & eclectic surround then give bar Lorca a go!
