The Charles Dickens, Southwark

Went for the first time on Monday with some friends on a recommendation as to the quality of the real ale.
Of the 4 beers we collectively tried, the only one that was acceptable was the Mild. The others were all warm, cloudy and flat. The place has a Cask Marque sign on the wall. Maybe it was an off-day but they need to do much better to retain that.

The Greyhound Hotel, Shap

Have been going to this pub for about 8 years and have always enjoyed the excellent beer and food.
It has changed hands recently, and on a recent visit the beer was still excellent - like a mini-Cumbrian beer festival, and the food good, but in general the service, while friendly, was a bit haphazard, and they seemed slightly overwhelmed. Hopefully this will only be teething problems, and the previous high standards will be maintained.

Queen Victoria, Theydon Bois

Has been a regular of mine for years. As has been said you couldn't ask for friendlier landlord/lady than Henry & Lesley.
McMullen ales (Country, Cask, AK) always immaculately kept.
Children welcome until 9pm, though there is one adults-only bar too.

The Sun Inn, Dent

Recently re-visited after several years. Was slightly disappointed to find no Dent beers on tap. Decent range of different real ales, but all were golden summer ales, so not much variety of style.
Not sure if the Dent beer thing is permanent - there was plenty of Dent Brewery memorabilia about the place, just no Dent beer!
Excellent food, and friendly - a classic pub.
