The Royal Oak, Lasham

Please note I accidentally posted this regarding the wrong pub! I mistakenly clicked on this instead of the Royal Oak at Lower Farringdon! The one at Lasham is ok!

The Chequers Inn, Well

A lovely pub. I've enjoyed many summer evenings sat out under the vines at the front.
Beer is good (Badger is the usual), food has always been good.
Change in management late last year I think?
I would definitely recommend although there are a few good options locally.

Selborne Arms, Selborne

REALLY Suprised by the comment below regarding food.
This pub is an absolute favourite in our house. Staff have always been friendly. Building is full of character with an enormous fire place which, particularly in the winter, gives it a great atmosphere.
Locally sourced food, and probably the best Chateau Briand I've ever eaten. A good selection of real ales too. Well worth an evening out.

The Greyfriar, Chawton

One of our favourites. Always friendly staff, good food, good beer.
Food is excellent, as said below it's not the cheapest, but its not supposed to be, you get what you pay for. They have now started doing a communal 'Tuesday Club' dinner which looks like great fun and is really reasonable (I think its about 6 or 7 a head)
Well worth a visit.

The Anchor Inn, Lower Froyle

Visited on Saturday night for a pre-dinner drink which is the second time I've been since the refurb. Had a really friendly atmosphere. Drinks and nibbles were good. Clearly aimed at the more affluent market but works well (car park was sporting a classic Alfa, Aston etc. plus the standard selection of BMW/Mercs/Audis/Muddy Land Rovers).
Food certainly smelt and looked good as it came past on trays but haven't eaten there.
They run their own sporting days. I'm not sure whether you can attend as a single gun but I'm sure they'd tell you.
We left saying that we'd definitely be back.
