The Middle House Hotel, Mayfield
One of my favourite pubs. Excellent food and service in the restaurant and cosy, buzzing atmosphere with friendly staff in the pub. Hubby and I often pop in for a Saturday lunchtime pint and slightly less often eat in the restaurant. Have never been disapointed.

Clearly changed a lot since 2007 .... a rather odd place now, although landlord/lady still really friendly.

Recently changed hands ... again .... however now does pretty good food and has a large restuarant.

My local - this pub has been up for sale for a while hence the current sense of uninterest in the place. However it is friendly with a great sense of community and hopefully the new buyers will exapnd on it's potential.

The Greyhound, Wadhurst
Last reviewed this just as the new managers took over....... they have been in for 6 or so months now and this place has gone from strength to strength. The new owners bend over backwards to support the village, food is lovely and they are even starting to get a decent wine list!
