The Pyne Arms, East Down

What a find! The food was glorious and very well cooked indeed. Extensive menu specialising in lots of local fish and although this is a pub, it was fine dining at its best.

Great atmosphere and a warm welcome with 2 barrels of real local ale on the go. Fast service with a smile - what more could you ask? Will definitely be back as often as we can.

The Globe Inn, Beaford

New to the area, we have found a few shining gems but this is not one of them I am afraid. The beer not very well kept so we switched to wine but we might go back and try the food as the menu looked fine. Perhaps a handy place for dinner after work although nobody was eating when we visited. Somewhat lacking in atmosphere for an old village pub and the modern furniture looked a bit incongruous.

The Duke Of York, Iddesleigh

A superb pub with real gourmet food. Fantastic atmosphere and the best beer for miles around.
