I think now the pub is back on track, called in last week, which I believe was the first week for the new landlord. Such a warm welcome, smile behind the bar and a huge log fire. We were so happy to be offered food all day, which was very good, tasty, quick and hot. A wide menu and I had a great pint of Doom Bar !! Shall be back again soon as it suits us to have a car park. Well done !

staff ignorant..waiting on my own at the bar for 40 mins. no drinks offered.finally got food a hour later..was awful..overcooked and cold..beer not kept well. and wine not much better..would really recommend you stay away..fine pubs with good atmosphere 5 mins either way in winkleigh and torrington.

We have now tried the food and it really was very basic pub grub and not very good at all. Nobody else in there eating or drinking and we were often left alone in the bar so we couldn't order additional drinks.

On a brighter note, the blue lights outside were very nice.

New to the area, we have found a few shining gems but this is not one of them I am afraid. The beer not very well kept so we switched to wine but we might go back and try the food as the menu looked fine. Perhaps a handy place for dinner after work although nobody was eating when we visited. Somewhat lacking in atmosphere for an old village pub and the modern furniture looked a bit incongruous.
