The Swan Inn, Ipswich

Hmmm, not sure what GreenAndWhite has been smoking. I can only echo what NorthernMonkey has said - stay off the crack.

I stand by my first comment - highly recommended, and will continue to be one of the few pubs I still go to regularly.

The Giles Tavern, Ipswich

Used to be OK, then turned bloody awful, with lapdancing and really chavvy clientele!

Unfortunately currently shut due to a fire. Hopefully it'll reopen and then go back to the OK days.

The Butt and Oyster, Chelmondiston

This pub used to be AWESOME, especially from the late 80s to the mid 90s. Recently it seems to have gone a bit "chain", but it's still a good place for beer and (mostly) food. Great location, great atmosphere. Recommended!

The Old Rep, Ipswich

I can only echo what's been said here already.... not great, but OK if you want to go for a lager. Busy on Fridays and Saturdays, bit grubby, commercial music, looks like a Vegas outtake but on a much smaller scale.

The New York Exchange Bar, Ipswich

Well..... went in there on a works do a few months back, and it wasn't great to be honest. Karaoke night, loads of chavs and shaven headed weirdos, and then blokes were just as bad! Ba-doom-tsh (cymbal).

It's not somewhere I like going, but then it used to be pretty cool during the day.

Very cold feel to the place, strange layout, and no atmosphere other than drunks drinking more on a night out.

The Fat Cat, Ipswich

Good pub, used to meet up here every Friday after work and stay till closing. Excellent giant scotch eggs! haha

Recommended if you want an out of town beer, it's worth the trek!

The Cock and Pye, Ipswich

Good pub, a bit local but still a good laugh, me and the lasd go in there on a Saturday to meet for our first few beers. Good atmosphere, music is pretty mainstream but there's good overall sports coverage and a good landlord.

Worth checking out.

The Swan Inn, Ipswich

Been going here a lot recently since the new management, friendly staff and a good choice of music! Red pool table, resident friday DJ Onion, live bands on occasion, the new boss seems to be making a real effort to turn the place around....
I dunno what "macca56" is talking about, maybe he's basing his opinion on what it was like before Autumn last year? hahaha

Highly recommended pub, it's one of the few I still go to regularly!
