The Salutation Inn, East Looe

Visited 8th June 2012..never again. Rude and abrupt lady clearing plates ordered me in a patronising tone to remove my small impeccably behaved chihuahua from my own lap and put her on the floor, No please or explanation as to why, before i had a chance to ask why she disappeared..I was perched on a low stool near the bar not at a table.
The reason i had picked her up was an aggressive dog was charging at her barking and yelping all the time my dog was on the floor, ( incidently no one spoke to the four people eating at that table about their dogs disruptive behaviour) when i placed my dog on my lap the other dog immediately ceased howling and peace was restored. I want an explanation immediately from the Management as to why i could not place my own dog out of danger on my own lap..I hated the tense atmosphere in there and the beer was warm and yeasty..not friendly like The Ship a little further down the road..i would avoid if you have a dog as they are barely tolerated in there...

The Ship Inn, Polperro

This pub had a much nicer atmosphere when Franco ran it about twelve years ago. The interior decor does it no favours the blue is too cold a colour for a pub.
The beer was average the staff indifferent to the customers, no friendly banter exchanged, this makes a huge diffence to whether people come back. Did not try the food as wanted to leave.

The Three Pilchards, Polperro

Was slightly disappointed this year with this pub overworked bar staff looking cheesed off, kitchens were shut when we arrived due to chefs being overworked and tired. Had a half pint of Doom and it was warm so not a good start. In the past this has been a great pub with a great atmosphere. What is going on i don`t know but this pub has the potential to be an outstanding establishment. It does need to have inside toilets especially for the ladies to compete with other pubs in the village.

The Crumplehorn Inn, Polperro

Simply the best pub in Polperro,as a sometimes lone lady in the bar area i was treated with curtesy and respect by the wonderfully sexy funny head barman Franco who also performs excellent magic tricks for the children. The DoomBar was the best i have had, cool and smooth. Alan and Sonja the proprieters are both hard working ( perhaps too hard working they looked knackered) and friendly and take a genuine interest in their customers welfare.
The flat i stayed in was well furnished and breakfast was fresh and hot although i would have liked to have seen some fruit to choose from as a low fat option to the cooked breakfast and cereal/yoghurt on offer. but this is a very minor moan. I loved the Crumplehorn and all the staff, the chefs are very friendly too and boy can they cook, the scrumpy chicken is my all time favourite try it when you next go you won`t be disappointed. I am returning for New Year and cannot wait.
