The Parrot Inn, Forest Green

Les the land lord is a nice bloke great food and they even threw in a band on St. Patricks day this year and they rocked up the old classics like wild rover dirty old town and even take me up to monto this is the kind of pub to come to if your fed up with the bull**t of an overated overpriced London pub you just cant buy this kind of atmosphere in EC1 or WC1 so the Parrot Inn is priceless

O'Neills, Shepherds Bush

I met the new landlady Kate from norn iron she used to run the woking o'neils for years she is pleasant enough but not to be messed with I hope she brings back the Irish music to this area which can only be found half cooked down the road at O'Donoghughes a touch of High as a Kite or Bang-On wouldn't go a miss here on the odd friday to get the P.P.P's "pseudo plastic paddy's" leaping into a frenzy of a who cant dance competition

St Margarets Tavern, St Margarets

Oisin has turned this place round big time we all remember driving past it years ago and we just kept on driving now it has a welcome atmosphere and food to die for also it has a bit of live music on sundays, and mondays there is a trad session with some of the finest players on the london irish music scene John Cargo top flatist, Mark "thunderfingers" Conyard on fiddle and banjo and the prodigal Tad Seargant on the bdhran underpinning the whole thing. Ignore the negative comments about this place as the boss makes every effort to keep everyone happy and a rare sighting these days is a boss that wants to talk to his patrons and have a craic with them. It's not about how much extra a pint is in pubs but more a point of being happy with the service, over 5 pints all you may pay is an extra 1 thats 20p per pint I would pay double that to go into a pub that has a seat on the loo and toilet paper and a food menu that actually exists. How hard can it be it's basic needs and this pub offers it and more.

Ganleys, Morden

I love the atmosphere in this place and the high standard of the bar staffs no drinking or smoking policy is second to none, the food is also great value for money. Also some great bands are jenny and grand prairy a great 5 piece country band, podge & rodge classic & contemporary covers duo and bang on who provide the sunday afternoon entertainment playing lively irish jigs and reels and a diverse selection of ballads and singalongs guarunteed to get the crowd jiving and waltzing all over the place
