The Maypole, Cambridge

Not much to look at from the outside, and to be honest not much beeter from the inside, but the Maypole is a cracking pub, especially when there's Rugby or Footie on - a wonderful respite from the usual grunting neanderthals that tend to accumulate around a telly on such ocassions.
The Adnams is usually on top form, and the food is cheap, plentiful and gorgeous (and fresh not pre-packed stodge nuked in a microwave).
Oh, and the friendly staff are mostly the landlord's family so it's in their interest to entice you back for more unlke the surly staff/managers that you get in the City Centre Chav Barns

The St Radegund, Cambridge

A great little pub - great beer, great relaxed atmosphere, - and a ban on mobiles too which is a godsend!
A word of warning though - do NOT under ANY circumstances drink the Polish Gold Vasser.
It's MINE, all MINE, you hear?

The Champion of the Thames, Cambridge

A gem of a town centre/back street traditional local.

The Priory, St Neots

Absolutley Ghastly place.
The fact that whoever suggested the Priory didn't have the intelligence to actually list it as being in St. Neots rather than 'Market Square' probably tells you something about the clientele this lager/alcopop barn attracts.
Your standard range of fake foreign lagers and designer Vodkas etc; your standard range of inebbriated Chavs and Chavettes; your standard range of non-descript booming 'music.'
Apparently it's not too bad a place for a coffee and light lunch, so my Auntie says, but once Eastenders and Corrie have finished - forget it!
