The Black Dog, Ashford Common

This pub has been an utter dive for years. So please to see it is now boarded up,
Their 'Last pub before Kempton Park' sign was a blatant lie, and no doubt dubious business practices like this contributed to the downfall.

The Grey Horse, Sunbury on Thames

Great little pub. Only small, but has a great selection of beers and ciders which seem to vary every now and then which is nice.
Apparently it's the Landlord's mother who does the food, and it really is true home cooked food. Large portions for a decent price - hard to get these days!
The locals are really friendly and made us welcome.
It might not look much but a pleasant evening can be had by all.

The Sorting Room, Twickenham

As for my comments on the bar, got a bit waylaid, I have enjoyed some good nights in here. I've been in better pubs and bars, but I've never seen any trouble in here, and I certainly have in VIP areas of expensie london clubs - it swings in roundabouts! The selection of food is good, the drinks are reasonably priced and the bar staff smile alot more than other local bars I've entered.

Comments like 'brain dead chavs' really says alot more about your IQ than it does peopls who have made comments saying they like the Sorting Room .If you don't like it, you do not need to insult people who do - just don't drink there. If you feel obliged to insult things you don't like the only solution is to stay away.
I also really disagree with the staff posting comments; the Sorting Room has hundreds upon hundreds of customers every week so there's plenty enough to like it.
I'm sure bar staff don't get paid very much and have really no incentive to stick up for a pub they earn pocket money in on an anoymous website. It's not logical.

Que Pasa, Staines

everytime I walk past here all I see is staff in black tshirts against a black background.

they think free coffee and a sleazy pole is going to make you enter a bar that resembles a cave?!?

in the great words of Charlotte church 'they need proffesional help'

The Toad at Two Rivers, Staines

I don't think over 21s will make a difference at all.
The Toad originally was over 21s and was mostly empty as the weekends (opening weekend = PACKED. Weekends as over 21s = half empty), there was also a lot more fights at chucking out time as I seem to remember.

It's not a question of age. It's a question of having a sensible attitude.

A stricter dress code for all would keep most chavs at bay. And let's face it most of the chavs are knocking on Wrinkly Door.

The Toad at Two Rivers, Staines

I think is_it_really_seb - 16 Feb 2005 16:20 has the right attitude.

Some of us like it and know lots of people there every week. Some of you don't.

I like the toad. I hate Cheekys, but that doesn't mean I'm going to slag off the people who do choose to go there.

It does bother me however, the people who continue to come back here just to post abuse to the Toads customers - why?? I think that says a lot more about the people you are.

Sad the Toads going (alot of memories over the past years!!) but looking forward to seeing what the new refurb has to offer, hope it's not too disimilar to how it is now, just improved!

The Sorting Room, Twickenham

If you not 20-25 you won't like this place and you'll moan about the flat screens.

get over it...your old...go home and let us enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

Always easy to get to the bar, friendly staff whenever I've been in there.

The only downfall...the stairs to the toilets!
