The Sir Percy Florence Shelley, Boscombe

Fumigate the whole place!

The Cellar Bar, Boscombe

Had to laugh at some of the comments on this pub. Yes it may be 'bohemian' but that doesn't mean it atracts 'the thinking type'.In fact nearly all the regulars here are brickies, labourers and yes... gay hairdressers! The bar is run by three guys in partenership but they are always arguing so nothing ever gets done. To be fair They have opened the refurbished top floor Chaplains bar fairly recently and it is easy on the eye until you see that you are paying far more than you would downstairs in the cellar bar (which is already very expensive) for the same drink. The regulars are very suspicious of anyone new and it is hard to feel welcome here unless you really make an effort...but be careful because if you make too much of one some gay bloke will try and chat you up! I recommend you only go here for the music special nights and steer well clear of the place for anything else. It's dirty, unfriendly and full of druggies too. Boscombe isn't known for it's good bars and nothing will change with this place.

Williams Wine and Ale House, Hoxton

I agree that this is a real find in the Liv. St area. Spacious and good value, it has very attentive bar staff and a friendly feel to the place overall. Much better that Dirty Dick's and all the other nearby competition. My only complaint is the relatively limited bitter selection on offer, I had a nice IPA but only saw a choice of 1 or 2 other ales. Overall though, a nice pub that is not too crowded even on a Friday evening.

The George, Liverpool Street

This is a great bar situated within the hotel itself but open to the public. I only go there to watch sports as it has a fantastic big screen and shows most cricket matches unlike nearly all other pubs in London which are obsessed with football. I agree with drunkmarv that it's not a place to spend the whole evening but it is ideal for watching sports in an upmarket bar with prices that are roughly the same as regular pubs in the area. It can get a bit crowded but no more so than any bar when big sporting events are on. Overall, a good find for the cricket fan!

The Prince Albert, Southwark

A surprisingly good find on a backstreet in Waterloo. This pub really is trying hard and it works. It's probably the cheapest pub around the area and I had a lovely pint of Best in there. Not sure about some of the the clientel but hey there's idiots everywhere these days!

It's spacious and warm inside and makes for a good place to have a beer and a chat with your mates. Not sure I'd take the girlfriend there though!

The Hamilton Hall, Liverpool Street

It's like all spoons except bigger! In other words, it succeeds because it's cheap; it's as simple as that. Although that formula, together with its real ales, can attract all sorts to Wetherspoons (including me at first) that's just fine and they really could have been great boozers. Unfortunately, it's now ended up with pretty much all spoons now full of white trash foul mouthed underclass chavs who have absolutely no idea how much the rest of the customers hate them and want to wipe out their entire lineage forever.

Hope I don't sound too judgemental lol.
