Visited on a sunny lunchtime and had beer and a burger in the pleasant garden. Inside the pub looks dark and gloomy. The pub seems attract business types and the menu and prices correspond. At lunchtime baguettes are £9-£11 and there are homemade burgers from £11 up. I had a buger and a hanful of chip: all quite tasty. I drank a fair pint of Altons Pride 3.8% at £4. My first four quid beer. Overpriced.

Dreadful. Visited at lunchtime. There was no menu. Barlady said she could offer cheese, ham and/or tomato sandwiches. Toasted sandwich arrived without any salad, cutlery or napkin and that plus a half of very indifferent GK IPA cost 6.30. Terrible value. I'll avoid this pub.

Friendly country pub. Good food and good value esp. lunch when Tuesday-Friday you get a free (Fullers or soft) drink!

It's still open and as good as ever. Palmers and Otter both excellent today and nobody's saying anything about possible sale. Let's hope that's history!

Lunchtime snack menu is not available on Sundays. There are roasts and a veggie option.

Good atmosphere and friendly staff. I tried their session beer (Keswick brewery) was was OK- not exceptional. My wife had the "famous" goulash which she reported most certainly was exceptional. And amazing value too. She ate the small one which was a decent helping at 5- most others went for the huge one. I had a courgette bake which was OK. The pub is (over) crowded and it's worth getting there early (before 7.30) if you want a table

having read some reports we were a bit apprehensive about this place. No problem- friendly staff and the beer was good (all Jennings) and not expensive (we live in the South and are used to paying a lot more). We didn't eat, bit the food look good and good value and was certainly popular

We thought we'd try this pub again after a really bad experience last time. It's very much IMPROVED. It seems that the new owner/tenant? has been there just a week or so. Three ales on when we visited and a good range of bar food. The beer was in good condition and the service efficient and friendly.
Certainly worth a try.

Agree with Abstratman- pub has friendly welcome and atmosphere is great. The Brakspears beer is also excellent. Home made chunky soup and bread at a fiver gets top marks, though our party were less impressed by the french bread sticks which at nearly seven pounds looked rather poor value for money

The Badger Picked Partridge was delicious- pity its not available year round. Didn't try the food which looked pricey (but lots cheaper for pensioners on Mondays!). The Sussex bitter was in good condition, but must an acquired taste (not ours)

Oh dear. It was such a good pub. We visited lunchtime midweek and the place look rather scruffy and deserted. None (!) of the bar menu was available. The friendly barman fixed us up with toasted sandwiches (3.50). The Tinners was cloudy and off. We settled for local Windsor and Eton ale which was fine. The pub gave the impression that it's about to close- might be wrong, but it's a shadow of its former self. Pity.
